date() — Format a local time/date.
string date (string format [, int timestamp])
Returns a string formatted according to the given format string using the given integer timestamp or the current local time if no timestamp is given. In other words, timestamp is optional and defaults to the value of time().
The characters in the table below are recognized in the format parameter string. Unrecognized characters in the format string will be printed as-is.
Please consult the original documentation for examples and more information. This table is the same as the original except that the rows are grouped by function rather than alphabetically.
